Understanding the Various Sizes of Stones

Premiere of a commissioned composition. 

Understanding the Various Sizes of Stones is a new composition by Teoniki Rożynek for three percussionists, electronics and the immersive 36-speaker Tonarium system. The piece explores the relationship between acoustic and electronic sound, using space as an integral element of the composition. The electronic material was created on the basis of field recordings, whose analysis leads to the extraction of rhythmic and sonic structures that form the starting point for the synthesiser layer and live sound processing. The concert will be the world premiere of the composition.

The event was co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage under the programme: Composer Commission.
