Aleksandra Szymańska

Cultural animator, cultural manager, and cultural policy specialist. Previously associated with the Polish music industry and media, and involved in independent cultural projects. Co-author of the “Freedom of Culture. Culture of Freedom” program for Gdańsk and coordinator of cultural policy for the city under the Gdańsk 2030+ strategy. Director and author of the development concept and strategy for the Urban Culture Institute in Gdańsk (2011–2024). Initiator of projects including the Narracje Festival, the “Odnalezione w tłumaczeniu” Gdańsk Literary Meetings, the Schopenhauer Festival, and the “Obserwatorium Kultury” research and publishing program. Since March 2024, Head of the Literary and Marketing Department at the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera. Since July 2024, Director of the Creative Industries Institute.
